What is a Dual Extract Mushroom Tincture?

Dual extract tinctures are a combination of bioactive compounds that have been extracted from a mushroom fruiting body by using an alcohol solvent and a hot water distillation process. 

Many of the beneficial compounds found in mushrooms are locked away behind a protective barrier known as chitin (pronounced kai-tin).

Chitin is a strong protective polymer that fungi and animals like crabs use to protect themselves.

Our stomachs are not strong enough to completely break through this protective layer so in order for the beneficial compounds to be absorbed into our bodies they need to be extracted from the mushroom.
